5:03 pm - To Kansas and family
|
Well time for I journal update I suppose. School is going about the same. Though what was really new was this past weekend.
I, Amy, and little Roger made the trip this past Friday to Kansas to see Lydia (prairieghost), Susan (suanskatra), and Bruce. It took about 7.5 hours to get there from here in Arlington, TX, and traveling a distance of about 410 miles or so. It was great weather all the way up to Kansas and quite a scenic route. Much to my surprise most of the two-lane roads we took through Oklahoma and Kansas after getting out of Tulsa had speed limits of 65 miles/hr for the most part: so that made for a generally quick and some fun passing of cars on the two-lane roads.
After traversing a couple of gravel roads at the end we finally pulled up in their driveway. Almost immediately upon stepping out of the car I hear Lydia shout from her upstairs room, “There here. There here.” A few seconds later Lydia comes running out straight towards me and jumps at me as to tackle-pounce-hug me: good thing she weighs very little or I would have been eating dirt. That caught me a bit by surprise. Then Ma (Susan) and give her a hug and I shake Bruce’s hand.
Of course Ma was already fixing supper for the evening. After supper me, Ma, and Lydia head on out to the local super Wal-Mart to get some groceries and of course some ingredients for some chocolate crinkle cookies that Lydia promised to make (they are very good). After arriving back and unloading the groceries, Bruce and Ma proceed to teach me how to play the multi-player solitaire game of nerts. It is quite a fun game but I will not explain it here.
The next I helped them unloaded their bus full of boxes and stack them various places in there house. This quite fun considering most boxes had to be carried up a narrow flight of stairs that went up at about a 45 degree angle and it also helped to wake the night owl (Lydia) up early since I so rudely dumped some of her boxes by her door; Lydia is not a morning person and her face more than adequately shows that early in the morning. After finishing that we ended up burning some of the boxes that were later unpacked and doing a controlled burn a part of the area where Bruce is going to put a garden. Again we ended the night with a good supper and a few rounds of nerts. Of course I couldn’t go to sleep even after laying in bed for half an hour so I got up and went outside to stare at the stars for awhile. It was a beautifully clear night sky, which made it easy to see the stars (not to mention it was in the country away from the city lights and even the sound of cars driving by). As I looked at the stars I could hear owls hoot in the distance, some distant dogs barking, and at least on small pack of coyotes yipping and howling in the distance. After that I ended the night by watching the movie Star Trek: First Contact.
The next day there wasn’t many boxes left to move so I ended up watch most of Secondhand Lions with Bruce and then after that Me, Amy, little Roger, and Lydia went to Iola (I think) to pick up one of there remaining cats at Lydia’s Grandma’s house of course that was after stopping at Wal-Mart for toothpaste and Sonic for burgers and slushie or two or three. Ended up later watching My Big Fat Greek Wedding which was a great movie (never seen it before I have). Then we all (except Lydia) enjoyed some popcorn in front of a nice fire. I finally ended the night with me and Lydia playing a few rounds of nerts and talking together.
I and Amy and little Roger enjoyed the trip quite well. Being in Kansas with Ma, Bruce, and Lydia was like being with friends that we had always known even though it was the first time meeting face to face. I enjoyed being there and talking with Ma, helping Bruce, and picking on Lydia repeatedly (of course little Roger thought Lydia was a good playmate and constantly wanted to head up to her room to look at all the stuff in her room or to draw). Quite frankly I didn’t really want to leave I enjoyed being there so much: it was like being with a really close family that gets along well and has lots of fun and that just love each other. Hopefully we can make it back up to Kansas sometime soon.

11:20 pm - Wow---I have a live journal?
|
I have been a bit busy lately with school and life in general.... apparently it requires a bit of time and thought when doing physics homework (which is almost like having a math class). This semester I am taking Intermediate Electricity and Magnetism along with Mathematical Methods for Physicists. The Math Methods class I was actually enjoying at the beginning of the semester but not anymore; this class is rather redudant... it basically covers what I am doing in the first class but without much explanation, and even then the professor tends to teach over the level of everyone in the class... I am glad that professor gives out notes because there really isn't nothing he says that I really even care to bother to write down.
IN just about two more weeks me and the family will be taking a trip to Kansas to see some friends face to face for the first time. I am looking forward to seeing Susan, Lydia, and Bruce. Should be loads of fun... though I have already been volunteered to alphabetize a 'few' books. It will be fun to pick on them in person. Anyways. Time to go.

Take the quiz: "What do you love about making love?"
Love You are a lover of love. You love to love and be loved. You are perhaps a hopeless romantic but those are rare nowadays. Think of it as a gift. Whether you are saving yourself for that special someone or you have already found him or her. You are part of an almost extinct species of human. The kind that believe in true love... Because love is truly beautiful!

11:58 pm - Forgiveness and Micromanagement
|
Well I figured I would finally make an entry in my LJ here considering all that has happened recently. Well as some already know: I was banned from LEF recently. You may have been wondering why. Well the reason comes down to a comment I left in Ali's LJ. To be honest it was a comment I shouldn't have made. You won't be able to read the comment seeing that I have deleted it.
In fact I even told my wife why I was banned from LEF. Needless to say it did upset her. I know I was wrong for what I did and admit that I was wrong. I am so thankful for the forgiving wife that I have who loves me and who I love dearly.
Though what really gets me about this is that Ali was also banned from LEF for a comment I made in her LJ. Ali didn't even leave a response to the comment I had left. Also, just for a bit of information it was NOT a unanimous decision by the Radiants of LEF.

You have Amoebic Meningoencephalitis
How you get it: Organism enters bloodstream through nasal passages while swimming, especially in stagnant, warm water. This amoeba has been found throughout the world. Incubation period: 1 to 3 days Early symptoms: Severe headache, fever Symptoms at full disease onset: Convulsions, lethargy, cognitive failure Final outcome of this horrible disease: After entering the bloodstream, this amoeba finds its way into the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal chord. Within a day or two, the brain and spinal fluid are overwhelmed by amoeba, causing meningitis, encephalitis, cognitive failure and convulsions. Coma and brain death follow within 72 hours. There is no treatment.
There is nothing you can do now but wait for death to arrive and hope it comes quickly. Make your peace.

11:34 am - Long Weekend
|
|
Where did I disappear to for this weekend? Louisiana. Alexandria to be specific. It was nice to get away from Neopets and just be online in general. Though I missed my friends that I chat with online. Nevertheless, the drive there and back went well. It was boring to be at my parents house as usual. Actually, it almost always boring there unless we actually get out to go do something which is not saying much in comparison to Arlington here in Texas. Alexandria is town of only 50,000 people, so there ain't that much to do. The mall stinks: there isn't even a toy store or an arcade there anymore. How evil is that, neh?
We did go visit the Alligator Farm a wee bit north of Nacitosh (however it is spelled). That was quite fun. Nothing like watching gators feed on dead chickens hanging from a wire over the water. Also, got to feed some racoons and a few baby gators too. We didn't wait around for them to fed Big Al: since that would have meant waiting an additional hour and a half in 92 degree Farenheit weather with %90 relative humidty.
Me and the wife even tried to go see Spiderman 2 at one theater but it wasm't showing at ALL. Though they did have White Chicks showing on two screens. How messed up is that? o.O Though we did go see Spiderman 2 after we got home from Louisiana. That is a good movie and as such I would recommed it.
Now to get back into the swing of things. Whoooooooo.
